Traffic and income report of my blogs - June 2012

Here are the details of the traffic to my blogs and the income report for June 2012.

Traffic Report

Income Report

The combined earnings from these 3 blogs for the last month was:

$198.96

The revenue was earned from Google AdSense ads and affiliate commissions.

Detailed Income Report

The income for my blogs has been increasing steadily. However, the earning from each blog is still quite low to provide a blog-wise break up for the income report.

When the combined earning from these three blogs achieves a respectable amount (which I plan to attain by Dec 2012 – so stay tuned and keep visiting!), I would start providing a detailed earnings breakup in my income report for each blog.

Analysis of the current month

Content Creation

Compared to May 2012, the posting was significantly low in June 2012. This is true across all my blogs – there was a general slowdown in posting, and its impact has been felt on both visitor traffic and in the income report.

I have written a total of 4 posts on my blogs last month – 1 on this blog, 2 on my New York blog, and 1 on my Cruise blog. This is a very low number by any standards, and I would be increasing it significantly in July 2012.

Traffic Report

June 2012 has been a very bad month in terms of visitor traffic – the traffic to all my blogs has decreased.

The NY blog has was seeing good growth in visitor traffic for many months, but in June, it has decreased significantly by about 40%. The traffic to the Cruise blog has also decreased in June 2012 – again by about 40%.

The major surprise is the traffic to this blog, which has decreased by about 75%. I believe all these decreases are because of the latest Google changes, and I am hoping that a few algorithm updates would bring back the traffic at least partially.

Income Report

The income report follows the pattern shown by the traffic report. My income from these 3 blogs has reduced by about 60% in June 2012 compared to May 2012!

The income report had been showing a steady growth for the last few months, and this is a major setback – something that was perhaps needed to push me into writing more!

A major change in one of my blogs – Introducing TheCruiseCentral.com

You know that I have been running a cruise blog at www.CruiseTipsNDeal.com. It has some amazing content on cruise ships, cruise ports and cruise deals.

Unfortunately, Google has not been very kind to that blog. For some reason, the blog seem to have been sandboxed by Google.

In spite of having some excellent, original articles, it had vanished from Google’s search results. I had been patient with this, and had been adding more and more articles to it, with the hope that Google would rectify the situation.

However, I have come to  conclusion that its best to bid adieu to this blog, and shift it to a new domain – www.TheCruiseCentral.com. This will be the new home for my cruise blog – I have successfully transferred all the posts, pages and comments to this new domain name, and am hoping that its content would get the attention that it rightly deserves.

Plan for the next month

In July 2012, I want to have a good frequency of posting on my blogs – I am targeting 9 – 10 posts on each of my blogs.

While I write the content for this blog exclusively, I have outsourced some of the content creation for the NY and Cruise blogs through oDesk. I am very happy with the kind of results I am getting from oDesk, and would be continuing to outsource through it.
