Traffic and earnings report of my blogs - April 2012

Here are the details of the traffic to my blogs and the income report for April 2012.

Traffic Report

Income Report

The combined earnings from these 3 blogs for the last month was:

$288.31

The revenue was earned from Google AdSense ads and affiliate commissions.

Detailed Income Report

We are still on the start-up, low-income stage for these blogs – the earning from each blog is currently quite low to provide a blog-wise break up for the income report.

When the combined earning from these three blogs achieves a respectable amount (which I aim to achieve by Dec 2012 – so stay tuned and keep visiting!), I would also provide an earnings breakup in my income report for each blog.

Analysis of the current month

Content Creation

As you can see, there was a lot of posts published on my blogs in April 2012 – a total of 45 posts across 3 blogs!

Out of this the bulk was on this blog, where I published 35 posts. However, not all the posts were new. As you would be aware, I have shut down one of my blogs (BlogSEOExpert.com), and have transitioned its content to this blog. You can see the reasons for doing so in the income report for March 2012.

So out of the 35 posts, 26 posts were from my SEO blog (which you can find under the Search Engine Optimization tag here). But 9 posts were completely original, in-depth posts (more than 1200 words on an average) written specifically for this blog. I plan to maintain this pace -publishing 9 – 10 information rich posts on this blog in a month.

I published 8 posts on my Things to do in New York blog. The content on that blog is building up fast, and this is being reflected in the traffic figures which we would discuss in a minute.

I published only 2 posts on my Cruise Tips and Cruise Deals blog. I want to increase the frequency of posting here as well,  but have been limited by the time available to me. Just like my NY blog, I have outsourced some of the content creation through oDesk for the cruise blog as well. So you should see some action here next month!

Traffic Report

The effort I am putting into my blogs is being reflected in the traffic figures! April 2012 has seen very impressive growth  when it comes to visitor traffic!

The traffic to this blog has grown by 300% – it has quadrupled – in just 1 month!

The traffic to the New York blog has increased by 69% in this month. This month-on-month growth is now coming on a much higher base, and is therefore quite phenomenal! The fact that this has been going on for a few months is quite impressive and encouraging.

The traffic to the Cruise blog has increased by 100% – it has doubled – in April 2012. This is when I am not even that active on the blog! The blog has somehow been on the wrong side of Google for a few months, but is now seems to be coming back.

Income Report

The income report doesn’t show such a stellar growth in the income figures!

The income has remained more or less stagnant compared to March 2012. However, this is not unusual – in the past, I have seen that an increase in traffic takes 1-2 months to translate into an increase in income. So I would be watching the next few months very closely!

Since the total earnings had increased by more than 200% last month (and has been increasing for a few months), I was actually expecting a pause.

Plan for the next month

In May 2012, I want to maintain a good frequency of posting on my blogs – I am targeting 9 – 10 posts on each of my blogs.

While I write the content for this blog exclusively, I have outsourced some of the content creation for the NY and Cruise blogs through oDesk. I am very happy with the kind of results I am getting from oDesk, and would be continuing to outsource through it.
